Anglo aliyah, olim from the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and South Africa, has reshaped Israeli demography quietly but durably. Roughly 250,000 Anglos have made aliyah since 1948, with peak years driven by ideology (post-1967), security shifts (post-1973), and increasingly today by quality-of-life and identity. Nefesh B\'Nefesh, founded in 2002, transformed the process from bureaucratic obstacle course to chartered welcome. This lesson maps the waves, the cities, the culture, and the language of the Anglo oleh.
Cultural note, The Anglo community in Israel is concentrated, opinionated, and visible far beyond its numbers. Jerusalem neighborhoods like Baka and Katamon, Modi\'in\'s Anglo enclaves, Ramat Beit Shemesh, and Efrat function as soft-landing zones where Hebrew is helpful but not mandatory on day one. The trade-off: easier integration into the Anglo bubble, slower integration into mainstream Israeli society. Most successful olim leave the bubble within 3-5 years.
