Israeli hospitals (~50 acute care) include government-run, kupa-owned, and university-affiliated. Major centers: Hadassah Ein Kerem and Mt. Scopus (Jerusalem, Hebrew University), Sheba Tel HaShomer (Tel Aviv area, ranked top 10 globally), Ichilov / Tel Aviv Sourasky (downtown TLV), Rambam (Haifa), Soroka (Be\'er Sheva, Negev\'s main), Beilinson (Petach Tikva). Trauma centers handle 1.5M emergency visits annually. Most non-emergency admissions require a Tofes 17 (referral form) from your kupa.
Cultural note, Israeli hospitals are extraordinarily busy and crowded. Sheba/Ichilov ER waits can hit 6-8 hours for non-acute. Departments operate 24/7 but ambulatory clinics close 4pm. Single rooms are rare; expect shared rooms with families crowding bedside (very Israeli). Hospitals have synagogues, mosques, kosher kitchens, and cafés. Hebrew/Arabic/Russian/English signage standard. If you\'re hospitalized, your kupa member ID + Tofes 17 + photo ID get you through admission.
