Doctor Visit: At the Mirpaa

Lesson 223 · בִּקּוּר אֵצֶל הָרוֹפֵא

The standard Israeli medical workflow: book a tor (appointment) with rofe mishpacha (family doctor) via your kupa app or website. Most appointments are 8-15 minutes. For specialists (rofe mumche), get a hafnaya (referral) from the family doctor first. Online check-in via Maccabi/Clalit apps reduces the wait. Bring kartis kupat cholim, te\'udat zehut, and a list of medications. The kupa app shows your medical history, prescriptions, and lab results in real time.

Cultural note, Israeli doctors are direct: short on chat, fast on diagnosis. A typical visit: 90 seconds intro, 5 minutes symptoms + exam, 5 minutes treatment plan + prescription. They expect you to be specific and prepared, so bring a list. Russian-speaking doctors are common in Maccabi and Clalit; English-speaking doctors are common in Anglo neighborhoods (Modi\'in, Beit Shemesh, Ra\'anana). If you need an English-speaking doctor, search the kupa app filter "English-speaking" or "rofe dover anglit."
